Niwot High became the third girls program in state history to win at least six consecutive championships, matching its own Class 4A record with 20 points at the Colorado High School Activities Association Cross Country Championships at Norris Penrose Event Center in Colorado Springs. Addison Ritzenhein led six Cougars in the top 10, winning the individual crown by covering the 5-kilometer layout in 17:08.2. Olivia Alessandrini took third in 18:01.2, Sarah Perkins finished fourth in 18:07.1, Mia Prok secured sixth in 18:17.2, Avalon Beltran earned eighth in 18:22.9, Anna Prok made her season debut and took 10th in 18:46.4 and Cayden Justice achieved 15th in 18:58.7 for Niwot, which also produced 20-point efforts the past two seasons. The Cougars also ran the fastest team time in Class 4A history by clocking 89:57. More videos |
