Niwot head coach Kelly Christensen recaps the Cougars becoming the third girls team in state history to win at least six consecutive titles, matching their own Class 4A record with 20 points at the Colorado High School Activities Association Cross Country Championships at Norris Penrose Event Center in Colorado Springs. Niwot had six athletes finish in the top 10 and all seven competitors in the top 15, led by sophomore Addison Ritzenhein capturing the individual crown by covering the 5-kilometer layout in 17:08.2. Niwot also produced 20-point performances the past two years and joined The Classical Academy and Lake County as the only girls programs to capture at least six straight championships. Niwot also achieved the fastest girls team time in Class 4A history by clocking 89:57. The Cougars also secured the third Class 4A boys crown in program history with a 58-104 victory against Cheyenne Mountain, winner of the past two titles. Niwot also triumphed in 2019 and 2020.
