Zane Bergen, a Stanford-bound senior at Niwot High, repeated as boys 4A champion by covering the 5-kilometer course in 15:17.7 at the Colorado High School Activities Association state championship meet at Norris Penrose Events Center in Colorado Springs. Bergen eclipsed his own classification record of 15:29.5 last season to help Niwot finish second overall behind Cheyenne Mountain by a 26-63 margin.
