Niwot junior Carlos Kipkorir Cheruiyot and senior Joey Hendershot placed eighth and ninth overall for the Cougars in the boys 4A final at the Colorado High School Activities Association state championship meet at Norris Penrose Events Center in Colorado Springs. Cheruiyot clocked 15:57.8 on the 5-kilometer course and Hendershot ran 15:58.1 for Niwot, which had its two-year reign as champion halted by Cheyenne Mountain ,which prevailed by a 26-63 margin.
