Niwot High from Colorado placed eight athletes in the top 20 to capture a third girls sweepstakes team title in four years at the 16th Desert Twilight Festival at Coyote Run Golf Course at Leisure World in Mesa, Ariz. The Cougars, who won last year at The Links Golf Course in San Tan Valley and in 2019 at Grande World Sports Complex in Casa Grande, prevailed by a 42-92 margin against Air Academy of Colorado. Madison Shults, a Stanford commit, was fourth in 17:36.7, junior Mia Prok placed sixth in 17:39.9, sophomore Bella Nelson took 11th in 18:00.5, freshmen Anna Prok (18:04.4) and Addison Ritzenhein (18:10.5) were 14th and 15th, junior Olivia Alessandrini (18:10.6) secured 16th, senior Lex Bullen earned 18th in 18:21.1 and junior Cayden Justice grabbed 19th in 18:25.3 for Niwot, which joined Arizona programs Desert Vista and Xavier College Prep in winning at least three girls sweepstakes team championships in meet history.
