Niwot 1st Place Girls 4A Final - Colorado CHSAA Cross Country State Championships 2022

Niwot captured its fifth consecutive Class 4A girls team title by placing five scorers in the top six and all seven athletes among the first 14 finishers to produce a 20-122 victory against Battle Mountain at the Colorado High School Activities Association state cross country championship meet at Norris Penrose Events Center in Colorado Springs. Freshman Addison Ritzenhein covered the 5-kilometer course in 17:56.5 to take second, Mia Prok was third in 18:18.1, Bella Nelson finished fourth in 18:24.1, Madison Shults placed fifth in 18:29.3, Lex Bullen secured sixth in 18:35.8, ninth-grader Anna Prok earned eighth in 18:45.2 and Olivia Alessandrini grabbed 14th in 19:10.4 for Niwot, which matched the lowest score in program history at the state final from last year. The Cougars also improved their team time from 92:31 last season to 91:44 in extending its Class 4A record championship streak. More videos |
